Relevant Work

My life and work experience spans most continents. Beginning my career in Inbound Tourism, I moved into the Museum Field both in the U.S. and the U.K. Major gift development and public relations for the Museum of the Rockies led to a stimulating career at the Natural History Museum in London where I established and operated two successful commercial businesses, Touring Exhibitions and Planning and Design Consulting. For both Museums, I served as a global ambassador and internal advisor on international engagement and commercial business modelling for museums.

Employment

Head of Planning and Design Consulting, Natural History Museum, London
United Kingdom      2005-2012

Development and leadership of a start-up museum business model to deliver global planning and design consulting services with a
dedicated Museum team. This leveraging of NHM skills and experience in both Science and Public Engagement, in some cases working in collaboration with external experts from other fields, resulted in a portfolio of 20 projects in the first seven years of this profitable museum consulting business operation. Projects were delivered for a range of client types and for a variety of projects - from the United Kingdom to Malaysia, from Dubai to Saudi Arabia, and from Singapore to Italy and Germany - all contributing to quality visitor engagement and an increased understanding of the beauty and power of the natural world.

Head of Touring Exhibitions, Natural History Museum
London, United Kingdom      1990-2005

Development and leadership of a start-up museum business model to tour natural history-based exhibitions on a global scale.  Many
exhibitions included sophisticated animatronic creatures through the partnership with the Japanese manufacturer, Kokoro Company, Ltd.;
others included rare specimens from the Natural History Museum's science collections, as in the Voyages of Discovery Exhibition which toured the United States for two years. The lauded Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition has traveled extensively to nearly every
Continent and continues to be an important international annual photographic event. Well over 500 exhibitions have been seen worldwide and the NHM Touring Exhibitions business continues to thrive.
